Skiing!!!

Hi lovely people!

Guess what??? I FINALY WENT SKIING AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! :D It was so so awesome and I loved every minute of it! I went with some friends, Alyssa and Taylor and we also met up with Hanna up there (she's a ski instructor for the little kids). Alyssa had been skiing over spring break for the first time in a few years so she was basically a pro... I was skiing for the first time since I was 11 in 2005, so I wasn't such a pro... and Taylor was skiing for the first time in her life!! So we sorta all helped each other... mainly Alyssa helping us and then once I remembered what I was doing, both of us helping Taylor. We started out on the baby slope and went down that a couple times before branching out and up to the bigger but easy hills!

The chair lifts went up heaps far and we had some lovely rides up them and some super awesome skiing down the slopes! The weather was pretty perfect, blue sky, a couple clouds and it was even very slightly snowing at one point! :P The first few times down the hill we stopped to take photos and just take in the beautiful view. It was absolutely stunning!

Taylor did so well for her very first time and she picked it up so fast! Alyssa and I ended up doing some without her because her knee was playing up a bit. It was such fun! We even made some new friends :) who were on our chair lift with us. They were 2 brothers, one in Grade 9 and the other one probably only 12ish. They were so lovely and friendly and ended up showing Alyssa and I a different trail down the slopes :) they were pretty cool... and amazing skiers!! They did some of the jumps (yes there were jumps... no I didn't go on them... Alyssa went on one of the smallest ones and apparently had a very impressive fall!!) and were totally awesome!!!!!

Taylor lent me her sunglasses... I was so glad! By the end of the day when it was getting colder, my eyes kept watering from all the wind as I flew down the hills!

I was so excited to go skiing again and I can't believe it's taken me so long to go! I wanna go again and again and again!!! I LOVE SKIING! :D

Alyssa was such a pro :) I'm so glad she could teach/remind us how to ski!

Hahahahaha I might have gotten sunburnt while skiing... I think it's pretty impressive! :P You can even tell where my beanie and glasses were... thankfully now it just looks slightly pink! 

Even more spring break!

Okay so just because I'm sure you are all dying to see more photos from my spring break trip to Canada... here are some of the 250 photos that I took on my camera!!! :P

Here are some photos from the ferry to Nanaimo. It was called the Queen of Alberni. This is where we played our amazing game of ninja :)

When we were exploring in Nanaimo before we found our way to Sarah Anne's aunt and uncle's house we found a beach! It was pretty cool. We could see where we had come in on the ferry. 

The girls decided they would start a sword fight with random sticks on the beach... 

It was pretty funny... but they were really good!! ;P

To get to the beach that was super close to where we were staying in Nanaimo, we walked down a hill and down all these stairs (way more than in the picture...) The worst bit was walking back up them afterwards!!!

On our walk around Westwood lake it was really warm but in the middle of the rainforest were these completely random little patches of snow! 

Madrone trees that we found at the lake :) They were super soft and really red! Almost like a gum tree!

Right at the end of our walk around the lake (it was about 5kms) we sat on this little floating dock and hung out for ages. It was super nice and sunny and warm! :) 

We then walked back to the trail on the railings just as some randoms were walking past and offered to take a photo for us! So here we are being random!! :D

Afterwards, we drove around Nanaimo looking for a Tim Hortons because we HAD to have Tim Hortons in Canada!! It was AMAZING!! Just as good as I remembered it being :) 

We bought 2 Timbits for less than $3. It was awesome! And they tasted so good :)

YUM!

We also went to The Real Canadian Superstore, which is MASSIVE!! 

And I was so excited because I found TimTams in the Real Canadian Superstore!!!!!!!!!! It was the BEST!! So I bought some... or a lot... and then we ate 2 packets... :/ but they tasted AMAZING!!!!! 

On Monday we went and saw the sunrise :) it was beautiful!!

Aaaaannd my twin!! Hilary and I wore basically the same thing every day :) same jumper and jacket and black pants :P I've been looking through my photos and get so confused when I see Hilary thinking it's me!!! 

On Tuesday we went to Cathedral Grove. It was beautiful! Lots of super mossy trees... 

We went exploring off the trail and walked across this beautiful river that looked very much like Gleniffer. It was gorgeous! 

We also saw the tallest tree!! (just in Cathedral Grove I think... ) It was pretty cool :) 

We then also went to Little Qualicum Falls! It was totally awesome and there was soooo much water!! 

I found out afterwards that when we lived in Canada we actually went to Cathedral Grove and Little Qualicum Falls!!!! :D So cool!!
